Information on Sonation sound insulation boxes for vacuum pumps and water coolers

General

Our sound insulation boxes are designed for acoustic insulation of backing pumps of the types used frequently in laboratories. The different models provide acoustic insulation for almost all types of pumps. If a pump does not fit one of our Standard products we would be delighted to make you an offer for a sound insulation box with customised dimensions.

Things to know

• All our sound insulation boxes consist of a stable powder coated metal box clad on the inside with a high-grade 20mm thick acoustic insulation material.
• The acoustic insulation material used is oil and water repellent as well as flame retardant in accordance with FMVSS 302 and  DIN 75 200.
• The dissipation of pump heat is achieved by the use of low noise, slow turning 120mm ventilators. The conduct of air within the box is designed in such a way that the pump enjoys optimal cooling without allowing any noise to penetrate through the air inlet and outlet ports.
• Noise reduction is up to 16dB(a) representing an approximate reduction of up to 80% of the experienced noise.
To enable access to the pump, for instance in order to read the oil level, the front panel can be removed and reattached with a single movement of your hand via a quick-acting closures.
• The sound insulation boxes are equipped with pump specific cover sheets. These cover sheets can be used to adapt the sound insulation box to the respective pump type. That way, if you wish to insulate a different pump, all that needs to be changed is the cover sheet.
• G-Lock technology allows fast removal of cover sheets without the aid of tools by means of a magnetic lock.
  

Models

Our smallest sound insulation box is the SSH07 as it has the smallest area. Models SSH11 and SSH41 have the same area, the only difference being their height. These two models are suitable for acoustic insulation of the most common pumps. For further information about the different models please refer to the respective product pages.

Model SSH22 was developed specially for devices with two backing pumps. This sound insulation box can accommodate two pumps next to each other.

Model SSH35 has a larger base area and is suitable for pumps such as the XDS35i made by Edwards or the Sogevac-series from Leybold. It replaces in most cases the older model SSH45. The SSH45 has the same base area as the SSH35 but is higher. If the SSH35 is not high enough for your application, this will be the right choice.

The model SSH56 was developed specially for water coolers like for example the ThermoFlex 900®.

The Orbibox is a noise reduction box that was developed especially for ThermoFisher OrbiTrap®. The sound insulation box insulates both backing vacuum pumps working inside the OrbiTrap®. Just like the two pumps, it can be stored away completely inside the OrbiTrap® without requiring any additional space.
